Learn English in the morning. Play golf in the afternoon.

An English language student getting ready to play golf. Doing thr English and Golf programme

When you come to Scotland you come to the Home of Golf. Here you will find some of the finest courses in the world. Rich in tradition and open to all.

Our English Language Homestay School is based in an area where you will find seven 18 hole courses within 10 km. Lucy’s husband and son are members at Alyth Golf Club, a very friendly club, only five minutes from Active English. Established in 1894,  with a recently refurbished Clubhouse it also has a nine hole for beginners and a driving range if you need some practice before your game.  The famous St Andrews and Carnoustie courses which are both Open Championship venues are on the east coast and easily accessible while Gleneagles, a RyderCup venue, is 45 minutes drive.

Tom and my son Ciaran are members of the local  Club, and have played golf since their childhoods. They are golf enthusiasts who play it, watch it and talk about it! Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player we can organise a package to suit you. Some of our students like to try a different course for each game, others prefer to get to know the Alyth Course well and to meet the local golfers.

Previous students have had their first experience of golf with us and have enjoyed visiting the Clubhouse for a drink and meeting other locals. More experienced players have taken lessons and enjoyed visiting St Andrews, the Home of Golf, soaking up the unique atmosphere  even playing on the Old Course.  Packages can be arranged with English lessons in the morning and games in the afternoon. We are also ideally located if students want to attend The Scottish Open in July or the Dunhill Cup in early October.

Realise your Scottish golfing dream and improve your English. Perfect. For more information on what we have to offer:http://activeenglish.org.uk/
